Hydrospeeds, (aka white water sledges) are a great single person, white water river craft.
If you’ve ever traveled down grade 2 - 4 rapids in your canoe or kayak, you’ll know how much fun that can be.
Now, imagine swapping your canoe or kayak for a hydrospeed and then taking the same route. With the white water at face level and your legs kicking like mad, the adrenaline really kicks in, and the rapids feel massive!!
Hydrospeeds have been around on mainland Europe for a few years, and have evolved into white water sledges in New Zealand. The USA has it’s own version of this sport, calling it riverboarding. At the end of the day, the sport is the same whatever you call it – swimming downstream through white water, with water crashing all around you. Awesome!!
Hydrospeeding has only recently started to get a grip on the UK, and Extreme Dreams are one of the few outlets selling hydrospeeds in the UK!
