| The Maldon Mud Race is unique in it's history being the only known event of it's kind in the UK, it involves a course of approximately 400 yards through the River Blackwater, and the thickest possible mud, the event attracts competitors & media attention from Europe and beyond! |  | | | | The Lions Club of Maldon and the Rotary Club of Maldon have restarted this traditional event, in conjunction with Maldon District Council - Leisure Services Department. The popularity of the Maldon Mud Race continues to grow, and this year we had to close entries before the day. The 2003 Mud Race was the 3rd organised by the Lions and Rotary Clubs, the first 2 raising over £25,000, for the nominated charities.
