YAMAKASI AND LE PARKOUR
I have just finished watching the French film Yamakasi. It was a good film made all the better by the stunts. These stunts featured guys running through the streets of Paris, climbing the outside of buildings, without ropes, jumping form second and third storey buildings and leaping from rooftop to rooftop. We've seen all these stunts before in most Hollywood action films, but what made Yamakasi better was that the stunts were for real! No blue screens, no crash mats and no air bags! The Yamakasi are real fall guys!!

I first heard about these guys on "Ripley's Believe It Or Not". What they do is called "Le Parkour". This is "the art of displacement". The philosophy is that thousands of years ago, man was running around and climbing over things in the jungle to get from A to B. These guys have just brought this into modern times and into the concrete jungle!

Instead of me going on and on about Yamakasi and Le Parkour, why don't you check out the websites below? Just click on the banner or the name of the group. It may help if you speak a little French for some of the sites.
